Community of Practice (CoP) on Food Markets for Better and Sustainable Livelihoods

The Food Markets for Better and Sustainable Livelihoods Community of Practice (CoP) is designed to bring together experts, food system actors, and organizations with a shared interest in enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of food value chains and markets. The CoP aims to address the growing need for innovations in food systems that lead to more equitable income and employment opportunities within food markets.

Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination

Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination: Promote discourse around new publications and actionable recommendations for best practices between researchers and “research users.” This will be achieved through activities such as new paper alerts, forum posts, case studies, newsletters, LinkedIn discussions, dialogues, and events.

Collaboration and Networking:

Foster collaboration among researchers, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and community members. This includes building partnerships and collaborations for joint research projects and adopting research findings into practical applications. Methods include forum posts and a matchmaking section to connect members.

Policy Impact and Advocacy:

Translate research findings into actionable recommendations and advocate for evidence-based policy changes. This will involve researchers' blog posts to raise awareness and attention, policy briefings to inform and influence policymakers, and policy dialogues and roundtables to facilitate policy processes.

Capacity Building and Professional Development:

Facilitate the dissemination and adoption [TM1] of training materials and professional development resources to community members. This includes toolkits, guides, and best practice manuals shared through a dedicated guidance section.
