Preparatory Workshops for the Scalability of Innovations in Honduras: Strengthening the Agri-Food Sector

Uganda’s dairy sector has grown significantly over the past two decades, yet challenges in milk
quality continue to hinder its potential. A recent study by Richard Ariong and colleagues explores
interventions to address these challenges through field experiments targeting Milk Collection
Centers (MCCs) and farmers that deliver to these MCCs. The findings provide valuable insights on
quality upgrading in value chains in developing countries.

The global food market is at a crossroads, facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities. At this week’s Science, Innovation, and Policy (SIP) Symposium, from CGIAR’s Rethinking Food Markets initiative in Washington D.C, researchers, policymakers, and development practitioners gathered to reflect on three years of pioneering research aimed at transforming agri-food value chains to enhance inclusivity, sustainability, and efficiency.

Estos talleres tuvieron como objetivo evaluar la escalabilidad de las innovaciones desarrolladas a través de la Iniciativa, reflexionando sobre sus impactos y compensaciones, y co-diseñando estrategias para su adopción generalizada.

Between September and November 2024, the CGIAR Initiative on Rethinking Food Markets and Value Chains for Inclusion and Sustainability hosted a series of workshops across its operational countries. These workshops aimed to evaluate the scalability of innovations developed through the Initiative, reflecting on their impacts and trade-offs, and co-designing strategies for their widespread adoption.
